I recently took a trip to Siesta Keys Beach, Florida on the gulf side. Beautiful place! The sand of course is crystalline, in fact, composed of quartz, which means that it will never burn your feet, no matter how hot it gets!  The sunset was divine :) Naturally you see the sunset on the gulf side, rather than a sunrise as you would on the east coast. What I love about Florida is you are within an hour and a half of either watching a sunrise over the Atlantic or see the sun set over the beautiful pristine gulf shores.
